Questions and practical tips
Why does a fast cut start slightly away from my selection?
Fast cutting relies on existing keyframes. A requested boundary may not coincide with one. Use accurate re-encoding when the exact boundary matters.
Which mode is faster?
Keyframe-based cutting can avoid full re-encoding. Accurate mode re-encodes and may take longer, depending on the selected segment and device.
When is browser-assisted trimming available?
Fast trimming from the beginning of an MP4 or WebM can copy compatible streams without loading FFmpeg. Accurate WebM trimming can use VP9 when supported. Other trims use FFmpeg.
Processing and file safety
This tool processes files in your browser. Loading the page, libraries or AI models can still require network connections. Keep a copy of your original files and check the downloaded result before deleting them. Large files may require more memory and processing time than your device can provide.
